Corona Virus Update

As has been so for some time, our patients and their caregivers are welcome into our clinic. Although there is no longer a mandate for masks you will find that we are all still wearing masks and would appreciate that you do the same. Through the appointments, and during the exam of our patients, we may be in close contact.
If for any reason you prefer curbside or a telemedicine call, please let us know and we will attempt to accommodate this as well.

June 11th, 2021

As of Friday, June 11th, the provincial government began its roadmap to reopening.  It appears there is a light at the end of the tunnel!

What this means for us at KHVH is that, if you are comfortable, you may accompany your pet to the clinic for appointments. However, we must limit the flow of people through our reception area. To do this, please call when you arrive, and we will let you know whether there is room for you to come in. Government directives are still in place so please wear a mask and visit our station at the front for hand sanitizer as you come in.

If you still prefer curbside, please let us know and we can accommodate this as well.

December 23rd, 2020

As you know, the provincial government announced another lockdown that will begin on December 26th. Although we have been able to allow clients into our clinic, we must modify our current procedures to accommodate for the province-wide lockdown.

Veterinary practices are considered essential workplaces and may remain open; however, we are going to resume curbside appointments for the duration of the lockdown as directed by the provincial government. We can still accommodate any and all types of appointments and procedures.

Procedure for Appointments
As of December 26th, we will be limiting traffic within the clinic and will be providing non-contact appointments. We will continue in this manner until the end of the lockdown.

  • Please contact the clinic and schedule any appointment as usual – our staff will inform you of our procedure.
  • Upon your arrival to the clinic for your appointment, we ask that you stay in your vehicle and call the clinic to alert us of your arrival (613-317-1716) and we will check you in over the phone.
  • Please provide us with your cell phone number.
  • Your veterinarian will call you to do begin the consultation over the phone while you wait in your vehicle.
  • One of our team members will meet you at the front door and escort your pet into the clinic. Please ensure that your dogs are secured on a leash and your cat is secured in a carrier.
  • Following examination and assessment, your veterinarian will contact you again with an update and/or to determine the appropriate treatment.
  • Your pet will be returned to you and the invoice will be completed over the phone.
  • Any prescriptions/medications will be brought out to you with your pet.

March 16th, 2020

Coronavirus (COVID-19) is at the forefront of all our minds. During these challenging times, we most of all hope that you, your family, and your pets are well.

We are open. We remain committed to our patients and their care and as a result we remain open, including our boutique area.

Please call our clinic for the best approach to scheduling appointments. If you have travelled out of the country or you are showing symptoms of the coronavirus illness (cough, fever, and shortness of breath), we will want to reschedule any non-urgent appointments for your pet.

If your pet requires immediate care, and you are currently ill, please call ahead to our office so that we may guide you as to the best approach.
